OR - Cannot Register Because No Money

Below is just one video of Tom's, you can see all of them from his registry attempts and other issues at his YouTube profile.

Video Description:
County has limited money to provide access to sex offenders trying to fulfill their legal obligations to register with law enforcement. Who is to blame for a Failure-To-Register-As-A-Sex-Offender crime? The government or the registrant? Should a "failure to register" crime be one that punishes registrants with prison sentences?

If I am correct when it comes to situations like this the state is usually responsible for this kind of thing and should send letters out to those in the area letting them know what is going on

If I were in this situation and knowing I am great risk of prosecution (and believe me the prosecutors LOVE these cases to death), I would scream so loud, I would be heard in Japan. I would not go down because of a state run incompetency, no money, or no way to register. You have to be kidding!! This situation, in and of itself actually bespeaks the absolute failure of public sex offender registries.

Asked to do things for less money . That was the best answer yet . How about a nights stay and three hots and a cott . Did they offer any employment options - free transportation vouchers ? like if you were on welfare . How about don't call me I'll call you when I get a job . And if you can't find me - ask for a raise from John Walsh . Free press - but he gets paid well for those catch a bad guy commercials - for a one minute slot .$$$$$$$ call and ask him . But please be careful you might get shot, after all you had one more day with no where to stay . Are they going to charge you ? Tell them the same thing ; asked to do things with less or no money . After time served . Call the new FBI varify system they are bringing in the doe with retirements . What would they do without sex offenders and juvinile delinquints . I guess remain under staffed and over paid to stay with in the budget .

With all that . The couple did push the envelope, to prove a point , but the officer's of the department did conduct them selves in an understanding way, and brought to the point that he had one more day to register . I'm sure they too, and the women in the office were aware of the transition . You could have asked for a time slot if you were really late and that would have been honered . Dumb about the money fraze, but so was the couple saying the department was at fault if they could not find you to inform you . The test is why one has to reconvict ones self after time served and be at the mercy of some department making alot of money for an offence that one size fits all is good enough for them , and the rest of the world . This is more of a problem for everyone . Good approach tho , don't give up .
