Dear SOI,

I have been following your blog for several years now as I am a RSO. There have been many times I wanted to leave a comment on the stories you post, but have been very reluctant due to the fact that you have to have an email account, Facebook account or some other registered account in order to leave a message. Here in Texas (and I am sure in many other states), a RSO has to report EVERY online account that they have. So, while I do trust you and your site, I am still very reluctant to leave a post that contains my email address. There is a political blog here in Texas called Grits For Breakfast that allows readers to anonymously leave comments to their articles and it does not require any kind of an email address. Can you also put something like that in place?

Thanks and keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's truly sad and not just a bit scary that our law enforcement feels the need for deception to keep society "safe." OK, so they catch a few "possible" threats who may have "thought" about doing something wrong but there is no actual evidence that they would have even done anything! Our country is now wrapped in an Orwellian paranoia that says that impure thoughts must be dealt with to root out the evil among us!
Doesn't that sound much like witch hunts? Metaphorically, sex offender trials are much like dropping a person into a lake and seeing if they float. Don't float? Your soul is with God and you are removed from the pain of guilt and existence. Are you a floater? Then you must be a duck and, therefore, a WITCH!
When you take the path marked "vengeance," everybody looks like the enemy. When you take the path marked "compassion," everybody looks like a friend...

Do you realize where the country would be if lawmakers and the media walked the "compassion" path? What about Congress or the Supreme Court? The first thing I see is that lawyers and prosecutors would be out of a job...

Very informative interview. I agree with her take on the amount of data entry mistakes that are made by law enforcement when a RSO registers. Personally, the officer that I have to report to has made several data entry errors regarding my registration. The really scary part about this is that I only find out that there are errors when I go back to do my annual registration or update it when I have a change. The last time I found out that they had made a mistake was when they showed up at my house for a compliance check and told me my vehicle...which I had owned for over 10 years and had registered previously......was not in their records and that I was not in compliance and could be charged with a 3rd degree felony. So, my life and liberty is dependent upon a data entry clerk who most likely hates sex offenders anyway. I am not worried that I will commit another sex offense, because I am damn sure I won't screw up again...I am really scared that someone at the local police department is going to NOT do their job properly and I will get changed with "failure to register".

"- You're also the type of person who bows down and follows the crowd!" I am glad you said this So Issues. I do not believe I would have been so nice. This behavior on the part of Sammy boy, is typical of the turn-around in politics. Especially when mob rule scared him skinny. Oops, time to go with the flow so now I am going to be "TUFF" on crime. Especially sex offenders. What a big laugh you are Sammy boy.

Oh I like your reply about the witch hunt. I would also like to say there is no room for deception in government or is the government using Christian principles in these internet stings when they lie and entice one.
You know Satan is a deceiver and entices one and uses all the mean's he can to take a hold of you.
I don't know about walking the "compassion path" but I do know love covers a multitude of sins.
So I can't get a job with a Sex offenders offense under my belt. So I can't go to church of my own free will but have to have a chaperone if I do because there is kids at most churches.
A man's fellowship at some restaurant is not like going to church and hearing a good sermon.
People under the sex registry don't have free will to go to church.
In other words people are under bondage with these sex offenses no matter how little or great they are.
These internet sting operations are not moral.. they are testing the morals of people, but their morals are more better than the average citizen.
Is deception moral today, I ask you? What about enticement and lying.?
I guess the Government says its right but God says its wrong. So were is the God in Government?
Now I'll give you my thought... There is no God in Government... Most all these people you vote for seem to serve other Gods'......The God of mammon is a good example of that.
So if you think I'm venting a bit what do you think the rest of the people on the registry are doing.. is all this fair according to God..... which is the supreme authority of mankind..... or is it fair according to man's lawlessness.

The hypocrisy of government aside, remember God is in all things...
Whether it's providing the whether, juggling planets or laughing at government officials trying to be God...
Also, as much as this may hurt, we wouldn't be in this fix except that we had something very important to learn. A lesson that was not taught earlier and put us in the position to use idle time to pursue inappropriate material. If yours was something more (or less) is not the issue. What is the issue is that for some (if not all) of us, there was simply no other way to learn some valuable lessons about life, money, people, family, community, perseverance and a host of other positive traits...
That said, do I forgive the government for destroying so many lives in their perpetual which hunt? I doubt it...
Do I forgive them for hurting far more people than me (i.e. my family, friends, employer, creditors, etc.) just to get at me for the purpose of vengeance instead of compassion? I don't think so...
But is it my place to condemn when, individually, the lawmakers and enforcers are just as human as I and may be limited by a system that forces conformity? It is the system that is the monster and the elitist mentality that pervades the "game of thrones" that our government has become...
That, my friend, is where Satan dwells and it is the mark of his passing...
But you, and they, are never outside of God's will and compassion. Sure, it may not always feel like love but it will always be fair. It's often impossible to see this since the world is so large, but remember that what you don't see is still under his control...
If you would like a better perspective, trying reading a book called "The Shack." It's a simple read but puts the idea of forgiveness in a simple yet understandable context. It also strikes a little close to home for some of us...
Finally, don't give up and, where possible, don't give in...
Don't give in to hatred or fear...
"Don't let the sun go down on your anger..." the book says...
"Be angry, but do not sin..." is also says...
That means, you don't have to like it but let God condemn those who deserve it since you may never know exactly who is deserving...
Until now, I wasn't sure...
I'm still not...
However, I'm now sure that my life is in far bigger hands than the petty government running this country and the even more petty minions that operate it like a swarm of deluded bees...
Be well!
