A woman has appeared in court charged with falsely accusing a man of raping and then imprisoning her in her home.
Nikita Aitken, 20, of Spenser Road, Bedford, is charged with three counts of committing an act with intent to pervert the course of justice.
It is said that Ms Aitken attended Greyfriars Police Station in the town on March 1 claiming that she had been raped and imprisoned by _____ between February 28 and March 1. She is also accused of calling the police to falsely report that Mr _____ had spoken to her and had been near to her house which at the time was a breach of his bail conditions.
At Bedford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (September 17) Ms Aitken's case was deemed so serious that it had to be sent to Luton Crown Court, where a preliminary hearing will be held on October 1.
She was awarded conditional bail not to contact Mr _____ and four others.
