KS - Augusta police officer (Jerry Ballinger) charged with child sex crimes

AUGUSTA - An Augusta police officer was arrested Tuesday and charged with two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

Authorities say the incidents occurred in April and June of 2013 in Butler County.

Jerry Ballinger made his first court appearance Wednesday and bonded out.

That bond was set at $50,000.

His next court appearance is scheduled for August 19th at 1 p.m.

wonder how many cops will end up on the registry these are people who are suppose to protect and serve and be people who we look up to but yet they commit these crimes that put them on the registry it's sad to see these people do stupid stuff like that but we all choice our own path

I am sure it would fall into the same category as a lie detector.

Used as a tool to point cops in the right direction, but not admissible on it's own.

One could claim that they knew it was just a bot, and decided to play games with it, since talking to a bunch of 0s and 1s is not a crime.
