A former Catoosa County sheriff's deputy was indicted on 14 charges Wednesday that center on allegations of sexual exploitation, sodomy, and porn distribution involving a minor female child.
William Stephen Crossen, who was let go by the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office on Feb. 29, is being charged with five counts of sexual exploitation of a child, six counts of dissemination of computer pornography, as well as counts of sodomy and interference with custody.
According to the Lookout Mountain district attorney's office, a Catoosa County grand jury returned a special presentment indictment regarding the case following an investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Crossen was booked into the Catoosa County jail Thursday about 1:40 p.m. after he turned himself in, reports show.

A former Philadelphia Police inspector who has a history of sex offenses involving children has been arrested in connection with trying to lure an 8-year-old girl from her yard in Roxborough last month, police said.
Leo Haley, 72, retired from the department in 1996. In 2010, he was one of three people charged in a child pornography bust after authorities raided his Roxborough home and found hundreds of child-porn videos on his computer.
He pleaded guilty last year and was sentenced to six- to 23 months in prison, records show. He is also listed as a sex offender.
Haley allegedly tried to lure the girl into his car in October. He was arrested Thursday, police said.

A former Riverside police officer whose first conviction on sex charges was thrown out has been retried and found guilty again.
Anthony Wayne Fletcher, 41, of Eastvale, was convicted in 2010 on six counts of sexual abuse on a child for fondling a female relative.
He served a year in jail, but his conviction was thrown out last year after a court of appeals said the jury shouldn’t have heard about Fletcher’s discipline record as a Riverside police officer.
A second jury found Fletcher guilty Wednesday, Nov. 7, on three felonies and three misdemeanors related to the same crime. Because he already served his one-year sentence, he will not serve any additional time, but his five-year probation could be reinstated when he is sentenced Dec. 7. He will be required to register as a sex offender.
Fletcher worked as a Riverside police weapons expert, but was terminated after the department investigated the girl’s allegations.
The girl came forward when she was 17 and reported that Fletcher had been fondling her breasts when he thought she was asleep. It started when she was 15 years old, she said.
She said she didn’t want to come forward at first because she didn’t want to upset relatives. She contacted police after hearing allegations that Fletcher was having an extramarital affair.
An appeals court ruled last year that the case against Fletcher was weak and said the accuser was motivated to lie.
But prosecutors have said Fletcher showed guilt when he was first confronted with the allegations and fled the state. He initially resigned from the Riverside Police Department, then rescinded his resignation and was later fired.
The jury this week deliberated for two days before finding Fletcher guilty on all charges.
