I have a 25 year old son he was convicted of statuatory rape wehen he was 19 he had sex with a 15 year old that told him she was 18.He had just came out of a 30 day hospital stay which included a coma. He has been diagnosed with permanant memory loss. This 15 year old girl went to his house at 4 am brought beer and wanted to have sex with him. They saw one another 10 months later Mike had permanent short term memory loss so he did not know her. She got angry felt like he was disrespecting her,she turned him in he had no idea who she was. He has Grand mal seizures. He takes 400 mg of tegretol daily,1500 mg Depakote Daily and 1000 mg Kepra Daily. She admiitted she wanted to have sex with him yet he is now a registered sex offender who unless somthing changes can never get this off his record, He did not force her she forced him when he had serious memory and brain problems,This is making my son want to die he would never have had sex with an under age girl knowingly. There has to be a way to get this charge expunged. My son doesn't deserve what he is going throught. He was not represented properly even though I paid $5000 he is legally disabled and should have had a representative present while being questioned and didn't.This is a case where he can't get a good job to support himself, which means he is a burden on our already burdened system. This law needs to be changed so this charge can go away,He doesn't deserve to lose his life Please if you can tell me what to do to help him get his life back.
