DENVER - More charges are expected Friday in the case of a Denver County Sheriff's Department deputy who is accused of sexually molesting at least two boys.

On Thursday, 51-year-old Mark Davis was formally charged with four counts of sexual assault on a child.

Davis was arrested on Sunday. He is a 14-year veteran at the Denver county jail and neighbors say he was very involved in the Montbello community.

"Because we know the nature of these crimes there has been concern from the beginning there could be additional victims," Lynne Kimbrough with the Denver District Attorney's office said.

On Thursday afternoon, 9NEWS watched Denver Police investigators execute a search at Davis' home. We saw them go inside with a crowbar, a hammer and a giant roll of wrapping paper.

The Denver District Attorney's office charged Davis with four counts of sexual assault on a child and four counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, as well as four other sexual assault charges.

"These are obviously very emotional and traumatic cases for young victims of child sexual assault," Kimbrough said.

The charges claim that between August 2002 and June 2006, Davis sexually assaulted a boy in his Denver home. The victim was 12 years old when the assaults began, according to the DA's office.

On Friday, the DA's office plans to charge Davis in a second case. In that case, he is accused of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old boy between June 1 and Sept. 27 of this year.

Davis is being held at the Jefferson County Jail because authorities say it isn't safe to keep him in the Denver County Jail where he worked. His bond is set at $200,000 in the first case and $500,000 in the other case.

He will appear in court on Monday at 10:30 a.m. to be formally advised of the charges.

"The potential is there for more charges," Kimbrough said.

The investigation is continuing and anyone with additional information is encouraged to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
