An eight-year-old schoolboy has married a 61-year-old woman because the ghost of his dead ancestor told him to.
Sanele Masilela tied the knot with Helen Shabangu, who is already married and a mother-of-five.
The boy, from Tshwane, South Africa, said he had been told by his dead ancestors to wed and his family, fearing divine retribution, forked out for a wedding.
They paid £500 for the bride and a further £1,000 for the big day, which was organised in just two months.
WESTLAKE (KPLC) - Donte is a 1-year-old Basset Hound who, like any other dog, likes a good treat and enjoys the finer things in life. Like jumping on his owner Yvette Richard.
The puppy has a love of his own, and it's caused quite a stir in his Westlake, Louisiana neighborhood.
"Basically, they're saying that my dog raped their dog," Richard said.
You heard right. Dog raped their dog. For clarity's sake, let's start at the beginning.
"We keep our dogs locked up in the back like you see we have a fenced in back yard. Well, we had no idea there was a little spot he could weasel out of and he did," Richard said. "We have pictures of the holes he had in his fence, well my dog got in but there's never been any proof that they even locked up."
Neighbors who called police said Donte was getting into their yard and mating with their dog, but that wasn't the reason they called police. They say it's because Donte snapped at their kids. It's a claim Richard thinks impossible.
"Our dogs, our animals are very friendly," she said. "They may be a little spunky, but they're friendly."
Westlake Police Chief Michael Dickerson said Richard was given a ticket for a second offense of a city ordinance that prohibits dogs running at large.
Back to that claim about Donte raping another dog. That comes from the comment line on the ticket that says "this dog breed another dog unwanted." Since no one really knows if the dog is pregnant, including the owners who didn't want to speak on camera, this is a case the courts will have to decide.
"I have a court date tomorrow because of this. I want to know who gets registered as the sex offender. Me or the dog," Richard joked.

Every year (see last year) the Wilmington police carry out "Operation Overkill" with Swat teams, FBI, assault weapons, helicopters, etc. You'd expect they were going after Osama or something! What a waste of money!
With a helicopter gunship overhead and drug-sniffing dogs on the ground, about 100 law enforcement officers swarmed a Wilmington neighborhood late Tuesday and arrested 14 registered sex offenders for various parole violations.
Joe Martinez, a parole administrator with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, said a search of the sex offenders' motel rooms and apartments turned up pornography, cocaine, marijuana and an unauthorized knife.
"What'll happen is that the sex offenders will be placed in custody, and on a parole hold," he said. "So even if they had a million dollars, they cannot bail out of jail for a while."
Dubbed Operation Safe Haven (Overkill), the parole sweep involved more than a dozen federal, state and local law enforcement agencies banding together to check on 60 sex offenders clustered within three blocks near the twin Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
About 40 of the sex offenders gave their address as Harbor Inn.
"Prior to 2006, you didn't have this clustering of sex offenders," Martinez said. "When Jessica's Law was passed, it prohibited any sex offenders from residing within 2,000 feet of any K-12 school or park, and there's not a lot of areas that comply with those law requirements." - Yes, thanks for pointing that out. The very laws being passed by the legislature is what is causing this clustering and wasting of money!
Around 11 p.m. Tuesday, teams of parole agents, probation officers, federal marshals, police officers, immigration officers, social workers from the county Department of Children and Family Services, and several K-9 teams entered the sex offenders' motel rooms and apartments.
They rousted the occupants, some of whom had been asleep, tied their wrists with plastic zip ties, frisked them, escorted them outside, and then searched through their things.
"Zero tolerance," a parole agent told one of the teams searching for banned items at the motel.
DCFS's multi-agency response team was summoned after boys, ages 3 and 4, were found living in one of the apartments with their mother and her boyfriend, who was convicted decades ago of attempting to rape an adult woman.
The social workers found no signs the children were being mistreated and decided to let them continue living in the apartment with their mother while an investigation is ongoing. The boyfriend was found in possession of pornography and taken into custody.
Operation Safe Haven (Overkill) comes several weeks after residents held a town hall meeting to express concern over the high concentration of sex offenders in their midst, and rising crime.
According to the California Megan's Law website, there are 179 sex offenders in the Wilmington ZIP code.
Martinez said the community became alarmed after a man exposed himself to two girls walking to school in July. The man remains at large.
Aside from the CDCR, other agencies that participated in the raid were the US Marshalls Office; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; Bureau of Immigration and Customs; SWAT teams from the state prisons in Lancaster and Chino; and police, parole and probation officers from different cities in Los Angeles County.
SPRINGFIELD (CBS) – In a case that highlights one of the unusual incongruities of state laws, the Illinois Supreme Court ruled Thursday that a downstate man didn’t commit a crime when he had sex with his 17-year-old girlfriend, but he did break the law when he took pictures of them in the act.
[name withheld] was arrested in downstate Freeport in March 2009, and charged with three counts of child pornography after photographing himself having sex with his 17-year-old girlfriend, but he was not charged with statutory rape, since the age of consent for sex in Illinois is 17. But, in Illinois, it is illegal to photograph anyone under the age of 18 engaged in a sexual act.
After a bench trial later that year, [name withheld] — who was 32 at the time — was convicted and sentenced to 8 years in prison, but he appealed his conviction.
In a 5-2 ruling on Thursday, the high court upheld his conviction and sentence.
Police began investigating [name withheld] after the girl’s mother complained about [name withheld] having sex with the girl. [name withheld] was 32 at the time and already a registered sex offender. She also showed police four or five pictures that [name withheld] had emailed to her daughter, showing them having sex.
[name withheld] admitted taking the pictures of himself having sex with the girl, using his cell phone, and acknowledged he knew the girl was 17 when they had sex.
[name withheld]’ attorneys argued the state’s child pornography statute is unconstitutional, claiming that applying the law to someone old enough to legally consent to sex does nothing to protect them from exploitation or abuse.
But prosecutors argued the child pornography statute was designed to protect children from the psychological and emotional harm that could result from distributing photos of their sexual activity.
Writing for the majority, Justice Rita Garman said the majority of the high court agreed with prosecutors, holding “there are rational, reasonable arguments in support of having a higher age threshold for appearance in pornography than for consent to sexual activity.”
They further argued that the consequences for sex are more concrete and apparent to teenagers than the dangers of appearing in pornographic photos or videos.
“Memorialization of the sexual act makes permanent an intimate encounter that can then be distributed to third parties. These concerns are exacerbated in the modern digital age, where once a picture or video is uploaded to the Internet, it can never be completely erased or eradicated,” the court wrote. “It will always be out there, hanging over the head of the person depicted performing the sexual act.”
[name withheld] had argued the photos were meant to be kept private, but the court noted that there is no guarantee the photos would always remain private.
Two justices – Anne Burke and Charles Freeman – dissented, arguing that, since the sex itself was consensual and legal, the photographs [name withheld] took were also legal.

SCOTTSDALE – A senior citizen claimed staff at a Barnes & Noble ejected him from an Arizona store because he was on his own in the children's area.
[name withheld] claimed a store worker told him a female shopper had complained he was in the children's area in the store in Scottsdale, The Arizona Republic reported.
The 73-year-old, who was alone at the time, said he was in the store to buy books for his two grandchildren, who live in Wisconsin.
He told the newspaper, "Men alone cannot be by themselves in the children's area."
Mary Ellen Keating, a spokesman for Barnes & Noble, said, "We have no comment on the store matter you called about. We believe we acted appropriately."
[name withheld], who was born in Egypt but has been a US citizen for 45 years, claimed the book store was not taking his complaints seriously.
What has this world come to? This is just pure insanity! This is what happens when you have zero tolerance laws, so parents be forewarned, your child may be slapped with the sex offender label and ruined for life for simply saying "sex" to someone else!

A Colorado elementary school student was suspended from school this week for singing a lyric from a popular LMFAO song, "I'm sexy and I know it."
Those six little words from the Los Angeles rap-influenced duo earned first-grader D'Avonte Meadows a three day dismissal from Sable Elementary in Aurora, Colo.
"I only just said the song," Meadows told Denver's ABC7 News. "I'm sexy and I know it."
School officials said D'Avonte was suspended for sexual harassment after he sang and the line to a female classmate who was standing in a lunch line. Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time he'd serenaded this girl with this particular lyric.
Aurora School District's Media Relations Specialist Paula Hans, said in a statement:
"Aurora Public Schools is committed to providing equitable learning for all students. We have policies and protocol in place to prevent any disruption to the learning environment. Due to privacy laws, we are unable to discuss appropriate disciplinary consequences about a specific student."
District policy, as outlined in the student handbook, states that sexual harassment "must have negative effects on the learning or work of others."
D'Avonte's mother, Stephanie Meadows, told ABC7 News that her son had had disciplinary problems before this week's infraction. Last month, she said, he was sent to the principal's office for singing the same song to the same girl.
This time, however, he was "shaking his booty" near the girl's face, Meadows told ABC7 News.
"I'm going to definitely have to sit with him and see if he understands exactly what the song means," Meadows told ABC7 News.
But Meadows still doesn't believe her son's recent actions justify suspension for sexual harassment.
"I could understand if he was fondling her, looking up her skirt, trying to look in her shirt. That, to me, is sexual harassment," Meadows told ABC7 News. "I'm just, I'm floored. They're going to look at him like he's a pervert. And it's like, that's not fair to him." - Come on, he's a kid, and kids experiment with sex! If you remember your own childhood, and aren't afraid to say it, I'm sure you did similar things growing up! Even if he fondled her, he should be punished by his parents, not slammed with the sex offender label and ruined for life. But if he would've touched her, then I'm sure we'd see his face on the public shaming list.
Due to the recent explosion in the world's population, congress has passed a law, in a 97 (yea) to 3 (nay) vote that would make it illegal to have sex anywhere in the country! They are also asking the United Nations to follow suit and make this a worldwide law.
They say this will also help with the global warming issue that is killing the planet and could potentially kill us all.
Anybody who is aware of a neighbor who is having sex is urged to contact the local police and file a report.
The new law will go into affect on May 1st, 2012, and anybody who is convicted of having sex will be arrested, thrown into prison for 25 years to life, and forced to register with the local police (for life) for inclusion on the states sex offender registry.
Once enough people have died and the world population is under control, then the ban will be lifted and people can start having sex again. In the meantime, it has been suggested that people learn how to pleasure themselves until the ban is lifted, or get a robot prostitute.
The American Civil Liberties Union has filed a lawsuit to fight this law that they are calling a "gross disregard for human rights," and "a violation of everything that is moral!" They are asking everybody to get on board, contact them, and join in on the lawsuit to stop this madness.

Unfortunately, that really isn't much of an exaggeration given its new ad campaign to combat subway groping. Yes, getting your freak on with an unwilling commuter is assault, but the ads being run depict something entirely different. Take a look for yourself. Just look at those perverts, engaging in the age old pervy tradition of rubbing stomachs on boobs and getting off in public with hot elbow-to-elbow action.
Or, you know, look at those two guys just trying to get to school, or get home from work, and who are probably as upset about the train being crowded as you are. Yes, groping people on the train is bad, criminal even. But you know what else is bad? Portraying men as sexual predators simply because they boarded a crowded train and someone near them is a woman. - And people say we have a "war on women?" Sounds like a "war on men" to me!
And really, is subway groping prevalent enough to warrant this?
If someone groped you while you were sitting on a park bench, you'd probably call for help. If you got groped in a crowded nightclub, you'd find a bouncer and have the creep tossed out. But on a crowded subway car, surrounded by people who will immediately put an end to any inappropriate behavior, and in an environment where your assailant has no chance to escape, we're expected to believe that women silently suffer these attacks.
No doubt it does happen. You can find every sort of weirdo imaginable on public transportation. But these ad campaigns go from trying to stop outlier perverts to informing women that if a man stands too close to you they're criminals. Good thing DC doesn't have a Stand Your Ground law.
A Benton County high school student serving two years on probation for a prior sex offense has been arrested following what family and friends describe as a friendly hug.
About 1:30 p.m. Friday, a junior high guidance counselor was walking through the commons area of Benton Central Jr.-Sr. High School when she saw 17-year-old [name withheld] and a 13-year-old female acquaintance hug, according to court documents filed in [name withheld]'s most recent arrest.
Hours later, police arrested [name withheld] at his home for violating his probation, which dictates he have no unsupervised contact with minors. - He's in school, how is this possible? Everywhere he walks he'll be in violation.
[name withheld]'s probation stems from a sexual encounter when he was 15 with his then 13-year-old girlfriend, said his father, [father name withheld]. - And now, simply due to a label, from an incident where kids are being kids, he's treated as if he always has inappropriate intentions. He should not be a "sex offender" in the first place! Yep, pure insanity!
On July 30, 2010, [name withheld] was found guilty of child molesting, a Class B felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony.
Court documents show that [name withheld] was placed on two years probation, scheduled to end July 30, 2012.
[father name withheld] said his son has acknowledged his past mistakes and is trying to move forward -- something he worries will be tougher in light of this event.
[name withheld] is currently being held at a juvenile detention center in Muncie.
"What scares me more than anything is, when he comes out of Muncie is he going to be a different person?" [father name withheld] said.
Benton Superintendent Destin Haas said he couldn't legally comment on specifics of the case but told the Journal & Courier, "The bottom line is our job is to make sure students are safe at all times."
Although [father name withheld] questions how interaction with minors during school hours can be considered unsupervised, Haas said his understanding of "supervision" was supervision by a member of law enforcement.
Complicating things, said [father name withheld], is that his son is mildly mentally handicapped. As a result, he has suffered depression that resulted in self cutting. - And this label may push him over the edge. This is pure insanity!
According to the 13-year-old's parents, their daughter is now bearing much of the guilt for the incident. It's their daughter, mother [mother name withheld] said, who instigated the hug.
"I told her it's not her fault but she still blames herself," [mother name withheld] said. "She's constantly kicking herself."
Greg Barrera said the hug was a gesture of friendship.
"They're just really good friends," he said. "We're really tight with his family. It's just an innocent hug and now he is sitting in Muncie's detention center."
A detention hearing was scheduled for Tuesday morning, but it was postponed upon a request by [name withheld]'s lawyer. It has not yet been rescheduled.

A 14-year-old Missouri boy with Down syndrome whose mother says he “gives people hugs all the time” has been suspended from middle school for allegedly sexually harassing a bus aide, a school official told FoxNews.com.
Desi Mayberry, Central R-III School District superintendent, told FoxNews.com that Aleczander Tate Scott, of Park Hills, Mo., grabbed an unidentified female bus aide while aboard a school bus last Wednesday and imitated a "sexual act" while on top of the woman, who is no longer considering pressing charges for sexual harassment.
"He grabbed her around her waist, like a bear hug, and then he gets on top of her and moves in a sexual motion, imitating a sexual act," Mayberry said.
The aide then "screamed for help," leading the school bus driver to separate the boy and the aide, Mayberry said. The incident led to a "short-term" suspension for Scott, according to Mayberry, who declined to indicate exactly how many days the boy was banned from school.
Mayberry said all of the district's buses have security cameras, but added that the boy's mother, Tonia Fujimoto, was not allowed to see the footage of the alleged incident despite her requests, citing district policy.
Fujimoto told FoxNews.com on Tuesday that her son has been out of school since last Thursday. His suspension will last through Jan. 5, she said. She vehemently disputed the allegations.
"The teachers and the administrators are not educated on children with developmental disabilities and they don't want to be educated on them," she said. "All they want to do is push them out of their doors."
Fujimoto said her son doesn't understand why he is being kept out of school.
"How can you put a sexual harassment charge against someone who doesn't understand sexuality? It doesn't really take my faith of people away, but it reminds me of the ignorance in this world," she said.
Fujimoto said she has since requested that Aleczander be transferred to another nearby school district, a request she said administrators have approved pending his acceptance. She has consulted an attorney regarding possible juvenile charges to be filed against her son, she said.
"I still want to see the tape, but I'm more worried about what charges might be brought against him," she said. "And how do you explain to him that he can't go to school?"
If this were to happen in today's age, in America, they'd be hung out to dry! My how things have changed over the last 10 years or so. These are really creepy though. If I had a kid, and they were on either show, I'd have to put a stop to that real quick!
