One catch, like most sites who are exploiting fear, children and ex-sex offenders for profit, in order to sign up, you must enter your personal credit card information, which is expected, but you only get a 7-day trial for $1.00, but after that you will be billed $29.97 per month.
Also, in some states this is illegal. They are using public records from the state registries to make a profit, and is similar to the background check or credit check services, who also automatically bill you some fee that is usually buried deep in their terms of service.

They also have the following on their web site. They mislead you by letting you assume that most people who approach children online are known sex offenders or adults. That is false as well. Most children are harassed and approached sexually by other children, and the facts on this can be found here, here and here.

And this nugget! Serial child molesters are rare and not the norm! But they make it appear as if all people who have sexually abuse children are serial child molesters who have abused about 380 kids. For the true serial child molester this may be true, but, like we said, they are very rare and we all know this is a business and fear sells!

So ask yourself, are they in the business to help people prevent sexual abuse, or are they in it just for the money? Also, why would you sign up for this site when this information is free in your state?
We understand trying to educate adults and children on the dangers of this world and cyber-world, but using fear to do it and making a profit off the backs of ex-sex offenders and children is disgusting!
If they want to be accurate why emphasize "average" and not "serial?" They want to build their number of dues paying members by creating fear. Someone should start a class action lawsuit against the people who exaggerate the recidivism of sex offenders because they paint all of us as the worst type.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you..we need some kind of lawsuit against this organization and OFFENDEX mentioned in above post. This stuff has gotten way out of hand. We are so bordering on living in Nazi America. Only thing left is for those FEMA camps to be opened up. Wish we could convince the human rights groups what is really going on in this country, and what hypocrites our government is.

Offendex has not heard the last of me. i put my attorneys on this and within 24hrs i was removed from these lies. This company hides behind a web design co. that has been bought by another web designer in VA. So far my research has been enough for my attorney to pursue civil action against such defamation and flat out ruining my life and future.
