AR - How Does Arkansas Determine The Level Of A Sex Offender?

5 comments:

  1. So they are going to give you a level based on what they THINK you  haven't been caught doing. How many time are they going to use that one person they were actually able to catch in his lies to judge everyone else. Every time anyone interview SOSRA that is the only example they can come with is that ONE man. So now they use that to judge every person by. She even says "we ask more information about someone sex life then you would want to know". She leave out the part about using this information against that person.

  2. This whole process has me PO'd beyond belief!
I find it interesting that the acronym (?) for "Pi**ed Off" is the same as "Probation Officer..."
For anyone who recognizes my avatar, you'll note I changed my screen name.  This is what they called me in prison so, if the system won't accept me as a person then I'm going to start shoving it back in their faces (that includes my monthly reports to probation)...
I still carry my prison I.D. as a reminder that not only do some things come at too high a price but this country used to be based on rights and freedoms, not fear, hatred and political grandstanding...

  3. One day in the future,  law students will be reading study material about, how years before, people who had been convicted of certain crimes were singled out to give up many of thier rights as  U.S. citizens. The texts will note that although these citizens had completed any constitutional CRIMINAL sentence, adjudicated by a court of law, they were punished for the rest of thier lives criminally under civil regulatory law. They will also note the relative ease in which lawmakers passed laws against these citizens. They will read how teenagers were included in these public registries without any regard to thier futures. Many of the students will find this hard to believe in the future, just as many students today find segregation and Jim Crow laws a tragic injustice that was accepted by the public and promugated by the Government.

Of course, the above is merely a senario based upon some of the tough lessons, throughout history, that our Country has had to learn the hard way. IMO.....it's highly plausable.
    Any comments?

  4.   Maybe the guilt will overcome them and they'll give our descendants a pittance to fight over; like we did for the Japanese/American citizens in world war II who lost everything when they were sent to internment camps.
But, most likely it'll earn a "Tsk, dude that sucks." reaction.
I'll think they'll be more fired up about us bequeathing unto them a tremendous national debt that has as much common sense to it as our SO laws do.

  5. You had my attention up until the last line...
Frankly, I doubt that our country has learned a damned thing in it's very short history...
Did we learn anything from segregating black Americans?  No!
Did we learn anything from interring Japanese Americans?  No!
Did we learn anything from the McCarthy hearings?  No!
Did we learn anything from the Nazi's treatment of the Jews?  No!
If anything was learned at all it was that people are easily controlled.  Why?  Because they have very short memories and tend to be led by both the media and the desire to let somebody else take responsibility...
One thing never changes:  man's inhumanity to man.  Unless, of course, you consider the fact that power corrupts.  Inherently corruptible beings should not be empowered to judge other corruptible beings.  We are all imperfect and anybody that claims superiority is fooling himself!
