A former police constable has been jailed for one year after being found guilty of making and distributing indecent images of children.
Jordan Janssen, 37, of Maryon Grove, Charlton, was arrested by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Paedophile Unit on July 15 last year after being identified through an online investigation.
He resigned from the police later that month, having previously worked as a police constable in Lambeth.
Mr Janssen was sentenced to one year for distributing indecent images of children and four months for making 183 indecent films and images of children at Southwark Crown Court yesterday.
The sentences are to run concurrent.
Janssen has also been placed on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years and been handed a five year Sexual Offences Prevention Order.
The judge said: “These are serious offences and distributing and making such images are not victimless crimes."
“Children are often trafficked and forced into the making of these images and they have to be protected." “Downloading of these furthers the continued demand for these images.”
Detective Inspector Noel McHugh, from the Paedophile Unit said: “This result demonstrates that those who are engaged in the production and distribution of indecent images of children will be discovered, no matter who they are.”
Did you know that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) says their are about 750,000 sex offenders across the country, which they did phone surveys for the numbers, but they don't tell you how many are duplicates due to aliases, misspellings and human error, how many are deceased but not removed from the registry, or those who have moved from one state to another but have not been removed from the state they no longer live in!

A Thunder Bay Police Services constable charged with allegedly falsifying Ontario Sex Offender Registry records will appear in court in March.
Const. Toni Grann briefly appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on Tuesday and had her matter adjourned until March 28. Police charged Grann with 12 counts of breach of trust.
Grann has served with city police for 11 years and has been suspended with pay since March, 11, 2010.
Police officials say between 2005 and 2010 the constable responsible for the registration of local convicted sex offenders and the co-ordination of the data had falsified a number of records.
Police added that since the charges were laid the registry has been repaired.
The Toronto Professional Standards Unit began an investigation after an internal audit of the city police service, which took several months, concluded.
Marc Huneault, from Sudbury, will act as the Crown attorney on the case.
Few other details about this case have been revealed.

The pro-life group Live Action, which is known for its undercover videos, has released new “sting”-style footage showing a Planned Parenthood office in New Jersey offering advice to a pretend pimp and his partner regarding their underage sex slaves. It’s video that is both revealing and shocking.
In a press release, the group explains what it uncovered: A Planned Parenthood representative coaches a couple on how to secure secret abortions, STD testing, and contraception for their female underage sex slaves, and even explains how the couple can make their operation “look as legit as possible.”
For example, the representative “warns the pimp and his prostitute to have their trafficked underage girls lie about their age to avoid mandatory reporting laws, promising, ‘even if they lie, just say, ‘Oh he’s the same age as me, 15,’…it’s just that mainly 14 and under we have to, doesn't matter if their partner’s the same age, younger, whatever, 14 and under we have to report.’ She says, ‘For the most part, we want as little information as possible.’”
The Planned Parenthood employee even explains how using the “student” designation can help his sex workers secure cheaper contraceptive: “If they’re minors, put down that they’re students. Yeah, just kind of play along that they’re students–we want to make it look as legit as possible.”
The Blaze called Planned Parenthood’s Perth Amboy Center in New Jersey, featured in the video, for comment. The office, however, had not yet opened for the day.
