Ok, now you've squashed the idea of people trying to get help! If they think anything they say will get them committed, then they'll just shut up and not try to get help. You people who pass these laws are really idiots, you know that? THE THOUGHT POLICE IN ACTION!!! Just like the Jack McClellan character, throwing him in jail for thoughts!!! Sound like Minority Report to you? Check out the video at the end of this article.

WAUKESHA - A jury in Waukesha has found a convicted sex offender to be a sexual predator, requiring indefinite secure commitment, because he told a parole agent he still had fantasies about the children he saw on television or watched at places like the public library.
- That is why you get them therapy, not throw them in prison based on "thoughts!" Jesus, what is this world coming to. Let's just lock up everyone for the "thoughts" of killing someone, or other "thoughts!"

Michael Monyelle's statements had prompted authorities to revoke his parole and led to the 2-day trial that ended when the jury found him to be a sexually violent person under the sex predator law.

The 30-year-old Monyelle faces a commitment that could be lengthy, possibly lasting the rest of his life.

His lawyer Steven Prifogle says the case was not based on crimes but on his client's statements.

He says the verdict could cause sex offenders in the community to stop cooperating with those who supervise and treat them.

But Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Gabrysiak, who prosecuted the case, says the thoughts that landed Monyelle in trouble were only shared after he was confronted about violating an aspect of his parole and asked about his sexual thoughts.
- I would've said, "My thoughts are none of your damn business!"

Wisconsin's sex predator law was enacted 13 years ago.

This has a chilling effect on people who want help with aberrrant sexual desires. Yes, Monyelle is removed from society for now, but what message does this send to people who are worried or thinking about committing a sexual offense? How do they get treatment, the responsible choice, without being punished?
